1. CHOOSING WORD EDITOR as default

Switch to Microsoft Outlook. From the main Outlook window, click Options on the Tools menu, and then click the Mail Format tab. Select or clear the Use Microsoft Word to edit e-mail messages check box

or ON THE FLY

Switch to Microsoft Outlook.

On the Actions menu, point to New Mail Message Using, and then click Microsoft Word (message format).

For example, the message format will be HTML, Rich Text, or Plain Text, depending on what is selected in the Compose in this message format box on the Mail Format tab of the Options dialog box.

2. ATTACH AN EMAIL TO AN EMAIL

      ·  In the new message you are composing, click anywhere in the message.
 ·  If Microsoft Word is your e-mail editor, click the down arrow Button imagenext to the paper clip icon Button image, and then click Insert Item. Otherwise, on the Insert menu, click Item.
 ·  Select the message or other Outlook item that you want to attach, and then click OK.
 ·  In a new message, click Send.  In any other type of item, click Save and Close.

Note  If your message format is HTML or Plain Text, the attachment will appear in the Attach line below the Subject line. If your message format is Rich Text, the attachment will appear in body of the message.

     3. EXPAND & COLLAPSE INBOX WHEN SORTED IN SENDER ORDER

  1. Sort Inbox / Sent box by Sender

  2. Select VIEW and select Expand/Collapse Groups

  3. Select either:  Collapse This Group  /   Expand This Group /  Collapse All Groups  /  Expand All Groups

4. STOP JUNK MAIL @ home

If spam, or unwanted emails is multiplying faster than you can manage to delete it, or worse still the resources required to send and store these messages takes away from what should be used as your productive, social time.  Then an option is to sign your email address like this:

myusername@NOSPAM.domain.com.au

Remind everyone who contacts you via email that they will have to remove the NOSPAM section of your address if they want to get messages to your inbox.

5. USE OUTLOOK LIKE A DATABASE for tracking customer/client communications

OPEN Outlook and go to Contacts, then open a current contact card.
Click on the Activities Tab  (The tabs are displayed like this: General | Details | Activities | Certificates | All fields  )

Use the drop down arrow to select the option for your search.

This is also a very good way of collating all the emails (both send & received) from a contact without using the advanced find function.
